Whether it’s an odd time signature driven arrangement of a Beatles tune or an American Songbook inspired original ballad, the quartet’s performance brings a fresh sound to the ever so explorative vibe of straight-ahead jazz.
Ben Eisenberg is an accomplished drummer from Richmond, Virginia. He has performed on cruise ships, in professional theater productions, and in many ensembles locally. His active presence in Richmond's eclectic jazz scene has earned him the status of being a heavily sought-after sideman. Ben has shared the stage with John D’Earth, Michael Hawkins, Charles Owens, Veronica Swift, and even Kurt Rosenwinkle.
His own trio regularly performs at Lolita’s and Goldwing in town. They are joined by Chet Frierson on saxophone to fill out the Ben Eisenberg Quartet. The group will perform an array of original compositions and arrangements of Ben’s. Throughout his budding career, Ben has been able to draw inspiration from the twists and turns that life as a young musician has brought him. The growth as a post-grad music major and the strong desire to have a melodic voice as a drummer have pushed Ben to compose and arrange for his ensemble.
