On September 14, London will host a rare and unforgettable musical experience: Ben Caplan, the genre-defying troubadour with the voice of a tempest and the soul of a poet, returns for his only UK performance of 2025. In the intimate setting Piano Smithfield, Caplan will perform an unusually stripped down and intimate concert with just his voice and an acoustic piano.

Known for his commanding baritone and electrifying presence, Ben Caplan has spent over 15 years carving a path that eludes easy labels. His work draws deeply from Eastern European folk traditions, but Caplan reimagines these forms through a modern lens, fusing them with political and philosophical punch, rich harmonies, and a theatricality that is uniquely his own.

For this night, Ben will leave his band behind and share stripped back versions of his new songs and some favourites from previous albums. This solo show will be a rare chance to experience hearing the songs in their most intimate form. Caplan will share stories behind the music — delivered with the wit and gravity of a born storyteller. Whether he’s growling through a lament or whispering a love song to the future, Caplan has a way of holding a room like few others can.
