Laugh with Berlin-based comedians Rohit Bhatia and Ben MacLean, performing a double bill English stand-up comedy hour at Metro Comedy Club, Prague.The duo is among the original founders of Berlin’s booming English comedy scene. Showrunners extraordinaire and solid performers, both have made audiences laugh in several countries. Join them for an hour of ha ha in their excellent Bohemian adventure. Billed as, “A fascinating, refreshing and extremely funny performer”, Rohit Bhatia has been featured in The Guardian, BBC Radio, and the German media, for his efforts at comedy.
Born and brought up in Bombay, India, Rohit worked as a journalist in the Times of India, and played in punk rock band Kinky Ski Munky, before moving to Berlin. He made a mark in Berlin’s comedy scene with his sharp wit and thought-provoking material, and gained recognition as one of Berlin’s top comedians.
Besides performing regularly for a decade in the Netherlands and Germany, Rohit has made audiences laugh in Sweden, India, Vietnam and Finland. Rohit’s observations about life in Europe have evoked joy, mirthfulness, empathy, other deep spiritual feelings and, on occasions, manic rage. He also performs in German, and is currently the only Indian stand-up comedian to do so. Considered to be a guru by some, he has blazed many trails and joints. He runs one of Berlin’s oldest English comedy mic, Revolver ~ the comedy show with a bang! His writing credits include Netflix and the Hindi film industry.
Ben MacLean is a Canadian performer based in Berlin. Originally from Nova Scotia in the Atlantic Provinces, Ben is celebrating sixteen years of terrorizing Germans with his rural Canadian friendliness, and ten years of hosting and performing standup.
The world’s only diplomat turned comedian, his one-of-a-kind LinkedIn profile also includes stints as a gay fetish model and flight attendant. Add to this the reality TV-like experience of growing up the youngest of seven, and he’s been blessed with lots of material. His content on Instagram and YouTube has now reached more than 30 million views.
Performing in L.A., Cape Town and Tokyo, being a semifinalist in the U.K.’s prestigious “So You Think You’re Funny?” competition, and launching Go West Comedy, one of Berlin’s longest-running English comedy shows... these are a few of his comedy achievements. If you recognize Ben from some of his “non-comedy” content online, that’s something he’ll neither confirm nor deny.
