Beltane Somatic Dance | Amsterdam

With Beltane upon us, this is a chance to come together, and celebrate Mama Nature's natural cycles and how we are beautifully and intrinsically a part of them. To embody the changing of the seasons, feeling this macro force in the microcosms of our own beings! Offering gratitude for the rooting and rest provided by the darker months as we bid them farewell, emerging through the soil of spring and blooming into the fertility, warmth, life and abundance of summer!

Somatic dance is a guided free movement journey into your inner landscapes. Allowing your mind to rest and your body to lead, deep listening and expression of the subtleties within, so you can come back home to yourself. Guided by a carefully and intentionally curated soundscape, this is a trauma-informed container to drop out of the mind and into the body, weaving embodiment, eco-somatics and movement.

There is no choreography and no right or wrong way to move.

All bodies are welcome.

No previous dance or movement experience is needed.

-This is a phone free, talking free and barefoot space, helping us to remain present and grounded.

About the facilitator (Myra):

I am a physiotherapist of 8 years, a somatic dance facilitator, trained with Somatic Dance International and have a deep passion for music. I weave anatomy and physiology knowledge with embodiement, eco somatics, dance, music and ritual, I have run somatic dance spaces in Bali, Portugal and the UK and am so excited to now be bringing these journeys to Amsterdam.
