About this Event
Beltaine Gaelic & Celtic Song Celebration! Open to all ages & genders
Gather in community, participate in ancient rituals celebrating Beltaine, the start of summer! There is also a full moon in Scorpio the same night as Beltaine!
Gaelic was once a common language spoken throughout most of Europe. If you have European ancestry, they likely spoke Gaelic at one time. Celebrate Celtic Earth-based traditions, create a communal altar, and learn an ancient Gaelic song for the Beltiaine holiday!
Led by west end Toronto RMT & 500hr+ yoga teacher, Becca Lemire

Why I'm hosting this event:
In 2023, I attended an ancestral Gaelic / Celtic folk songs musical retreat led by worldwide spiritual musician & song carrier Peia. The ancient songs I learned are still landing deeply in my heart and I sit with them often. My whole body gets overtaken with goosebumps and an indescribeable type of energy as I sing these songs. It feels like a direct portal to another world, to my ancestors opens up.
One of the songs Peia taught at the retreat was the traditional Gaelic folk song celebrating the holiday Beltaine, the start to summer! I will be sharing this song with my Shruti box, explain a bit of the history and how I learned it, and teach part of the song to the group for an interactive guided sing-along. We will also create a community-led Beltaine altar, have time for herbal tea & socializing, and close out the evening with a relaxing crystal bowl sound healing.
I'm so honoured at the opportunity to share this special song and celebrate the beginnings of summer!
This event is open to all ages and genders. There are 2 different PWYC (pay what you can) ticket price options for those in different financial situations. Please choose the ticket price that's sustainable for you, with respect for the energy I put into holding space. Youth spots are free. There are a limited number of donation based spots available for those unable to pay full PWYC ticket price. Please bring a yoga mat, blanket or pillow to make yourself comfortable for the sound healing. Other chair seating and a few yoga mats will be provided. Herbal tea & light snacks will be available. There are a few porch stairs to enter the space.
Would love to see you there!
