Belonging Resident Company dance/theater performance/workshop

This event is part of the Fall of Freedom series happening all over the country, countering fascist repression and censorship with joyful communities of defiant creativity. They assert and we uplift that art matters and that courage is contagious.
This event will include dance/theater performance work from the Belonging Resident Company's work-in-progress show called "We Keep Us," which explores belonging, community, care and safety beyond systems of harm. There will be performance and audience participation.
The Belonging Resident Company (BRC) is a groundbreaking performance ensemble, originally hosted by the Othering and Belonging Institute and now resident at Destiny Arts Center, that centers BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ artists, facilitators, and musicians on the mission to make the revolution of belonging irresistible. Through contemporary and hip-hop dance, movement theater, playback theater, and radical imagination, we aim to foster embodied experiences of belonging and dismantle systems of oppression.
BRC exists to create spaces for healing and solidarity, uplift a vision of belonging without othering and activate embodied strategies for collective liberation. By transforming how people experience belonging, we challenge exclusionary structures and advocate for justice and equity across all social contexts.
