About Special Spectators

Special Spectators is a completely volunteer-run nonprofit organization profoundly impacting the lives of seriously ill children and their families by creating memorable VIP all-access game day experiences at sporting events across the United States. Since 2002, we've hosted more than 10,000 patients, parents and siblings at nearly 500 games - mostly college football.

In collaboration with dozens of FBS college football programs, Special Spectators creates inspiring and memorable experiences for kids battling cancer, awaiting organ transplants and other life threatening illnesses. We host the ultimate Saturday experience including exclusive hospitality areas visited by student-athletes, cheerleaders, mascots and marching bands; locker room tours; meeting coaches & players; and a moving stadium announcement. Imagine a small group of seriously ill kids standing on the field in a packed stadium, being introduced to fans resulting in one of the loudest standing ovations of the season.

Since 2006, Special Spectators has partnered with the University of Tennessee Athletic Department and East Tennessee Children’s Hospital to give ETCH patients and families unbelievably memorable Vols game day experiences.

About Bella's Blessings

Bella's Blessings was founded in December 2021 by Jayme and Bryan Hair after their daughter, Annabella, was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor, juvenile pilocytic astrocytoma. Thankfully, since the tumor was fully encapsulated and the cyst didn't rupture during surgery, neither chemo nor radiation was required. She has undergone extensive therapies and is fighting to get back to full strength.

The Bella's Blessings fund is managed by East Tennessee Children's Hospital and serves families who are unexpectedly admitted for any type of illness or accident. Fortunately, the Hair family received tremendous support from family and friends in the Knoxville area when they were suddenly admitted to ETCH. While in the ICU, the Hairs realized other families traveled significant distances and did not have the same, local support.

The fund provides comfort care items such as fuzzy blankets, restaurant gift cards, inflatable matresses for families, gas gift cards, night lights and a host of other items.
