The Belfast Trojans, Northern Ireland’s most decorated American Football team and current Irish National Champions are recruiting players aged 18 and over to take the field for the Green Machine.
While COVID-19 has caused the cancellation of the 2020 & 2021 seasons, our kitted squad are eager to defend our title from 2019 in the new year
American Football is a tough, competitive full contact sport that will test your athleticism and your courage.
NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE is needed to try out for the team.
All that is required is a willingness to compete and the desire to learn.
Whilst athleticism, strength and speed are all common abilities across the many different positions, American Football offers roles for players of all shapes and sizes, no one should feel excluded.
This tryout is aimed at players who are brand new to the sport or who have played at a level lower than the Shamrock Bowl Conference (Premier Division), Ireland’s top tier of competition.
If this describes you then you only need to attend ONE of our tryouts to be assessed by our Coaches.
All that you need for the tryout is to wear clothing suitable for outdoor training and bring your own water bottle.
We practice come rain or shine.
Of course we are always excited to welcome experienced players to the team as well. If you have experience at a similar or higher level than the Trojans then please contact this page directly and we will put you in touch with our coaching staff. There is normally no need to tryout and you can link up with the team directly at the OTA’s.
This is an outstanding opportunity to join an expanding club that is determined every year to carve out a bigger place in the history of American Football in Ireland.
