About this Event

This is a repeat of the session introducing the Quality Assurance (QA) process used in the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). We will be using a virtual approach due to the covid-19 outbreak. Please follow the link in your e-mail invite which will send you to the relevant Microsoft Teams area.

We will discuss the motive for QA, including the AQuA book, how QA is done in BEIS and a practical exercise to show how it's put in practice. The agenda is as follows:

  1. Introduction to QA Principles

  2. Documentation for models

  3. Structure & Clarity of Excel models 

  4. Validation & Verification: How to assure a model 

  5. Assumptions and the assumptions log

  6. Practical QA Exercise (75 minutes) : test the skills learned using a practice model.

  7. How to continue to improve your modelling and QA skills
