Behnchara Sacred Sisterhood Gathering is A safe sustainable and supportive space focused on healing South Asian womxn that is inclusive of all femme. Here, we reknit and reclaim the sisterhood we all want in our lives. An unbreakable fort to hold all our wounds and wombs in rejuvenation. In Behnchara, we gather to share our untold stories, own our vulnerability as our power, and learn tools to equip ourselves to break the cycles of trauma and oppression. Saleha will guide partcipants in breathing exercises, affirmation chanting, a sharing circle, and a Sufi dance to close.Saleha grew up not understanding the oppression, suppression, and violation of her existence. She experienced sexual assault as a child, sexual objectification as a teenager, and later marital rape. Her voice was silenced for the sake of politeness, her growth was halted by shame, and her integrity was corrupted with blame.
"I am the first generation south Asian womxn in all of my extended family to own, write and carve my independent thought, identity, serenity, and wealth. I have been ridiculed and exploited at work and at home. With no one to hold me or guide me. I’m a survivor of honor-killing and a thriver of healing sisters as a collective. In my journey to freedom, I have fallen on my face more times than I can count. And I have yearned for support and love from fellow womb-beings like me."
Saleha is a Pakistani Serial Entrepreneur with 2 successful exits in tech. She holds a BA in Economics from UC Berkeley, and MSc in Finance from Central European University, and currently consults with SME's to provide CFO level support, Business Development and Growth Strategies.
Her invitation to sisters: Instead of carrying the shame & blame for just being born a girl, a vulva, a womb – join us, to heal for yourself, and for your daughters. Let us RISE as sisters and reinstate balance on this mother earth of ours.
