BEHIND THE WORK FEATURING CARRIE PENDERGRASS
Townsend Atelier is pleased to announce the next in its free artist talk series, Behind the Work, on Sunday, September 6, from 2:00-3:30 pm EST. The series is given by some of Chattanooga's best visual artists. September's lecture will feature printmaker Carrie Pendergrass, who will offer insight into her process, the challenges she faces, and the inspiration behind her work. Q & A. Open to the public free of charge. No registration necessary.
A Chattanooga native, Carrie Pendergrass has been a visual artist, art educator, and art advocate/facilitator for over 25 years. Carrie holds a BFA degree in Studio Art with a concentration in Painting from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a visual art-focused MEd degree from the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga. She has worked in both the non-profit and private sectors as an art teacher for children and adults of all ages. She has been recognized for her alternative printmaking work since 2017, with Honorable Mentions and juror’s prizes in 2017, 2021, & 2022 from the nationally recognized 4 Bridges Arts Festival. Her art can be seen locally and nationally in private and public collections, primarily in the Southeast.
