In this engaging series, Ozan shares the fascinating stories of composers, exploring their lives, inspirations, and the historical contexts of their works. Following the success of his 2024 lectures on the eras of music, which drew enthusiastic audiences of over 200 attendees, Ozan returns with a new series for 2025, delving deeper into the personalities behind the music.

The next lecture focuses on Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, one of the most celebrated composers of the Romantic era. Ozan will guide you through Tchaikovsky’s life, from his struggles and triumphs to the inspirations behind his iconic works. The lecture will include brief piano examples to illustrate key points, and one of Tchaikovsky’s pieces will be performed in full to highlight his style and emotional depth.

• Date: Saturday, March 15
• Time: Doors open at 12:30pm. The lecture begins 30 minutes later and will run for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, followed by a Q&A session.
• Location: Patricia A. Whelan Performance Hall, Calgary Central Library
