Have you admired tatting and wondered ifyou could be able to tat? Tatting is surprising easy to do, despite it's seeming intricacy. Only a few stitches need to be mastered in order to create beautiful tatted works of art. These beginner classes will get you on track for shuttle tatting by teaching you the tools and technique. We will concentrate on learning the double stitch, which all shuttle tatting is based on. Once the double stitch has been mastered, we will learn to make rings and picots, and then how to connect rings through picots. The goal of these classes is to create, with practice, a simple edging of connected rings and picots.
About the instructor: Kevin Baum, is an accomplished tatter and teacher, with years of experience! Kevin orginally learned tatting to both keep the tradition alive as well as explore a viable activity that could be done while traveling. Years later, he has tatted scores of snowflakes, bookmarks, edgings and baby shoes as well has taught classes at Lacis and The San Francisco School of Needlework and Design.
