Instructor: Dan HaywardSkill Level: Beginner
Learn the art of making stained glass in this 2-day class! PA Guild of Craftsman Master Artisan Dan Hayward will introduce participants to the tools and techniques to create works in stained glass using the copper foil method. The class begins with a safety overview and an introduction to the tools used. Everyone will practice cutting and breaking glass to become familiar with the basic tools and then select a pattern and glass. From there, Dan will guide each person through the process of cutting and grinding glass to his or her selected pattern, applying copper foil, soldering the individual pieces together and finally framing the piece.
Registration fee includes multiple patterns from which to choose, all glass, tools, and supplies. Each student will complete a stained glass panel of approximately one square foot.
Individuals who participated in previous stained glass classes are welcome to return and Dan will guide them through slightly more complex projects.
