Beginning O'odham I

The Phoenix Indian Center Language and Culture Department is happy to announce a 8-week Beginning O’odham class in-person at the Phoenix Indian Center (4041 N Central Ave Building B Phoenix, AZ 85012). Join us on Wednesday evenings, starting February 5th at 5:30pm to 7:30pm each week.

PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU ARE REGISTERING FOR SOMEONE ELSE, MAKE SURE TO USE THEIR NAME AND INFORMATION

This class is intended for those who have zero to little exposure to the O’odham language. Participants must be dedicated to attending 7 or more classes out of the 8. It is encouraged to practice as much as possible, and we hope that participants will integrate at least one hour of practice per week, plus course time, and keep a log of their practice time.

The course is limited to 20 participants. The instructor for this course is Gabriel Martinez.

By registering for the Beginning O'odham Language Class, participants hereby release any rights to these materials for use in promotional materials, publications, or online platforms related to the Beginning O'odham Language Class. All of which will be done in respect and acknowledgement with tribal communities, and used for educational purposes.
