This will be a specialty class instruction on basic mig welding. It is NOT intended to certify you in any welding processes, but introduce you to the basic process of fusing metals together for your projects.
Class discussion will include safety equipment, metal preparation, basic welding techniques, power selection, etc.
As part of the instruction, you will actually be welding up a project. We would like for you to create your own “junk yard art” item from metal odds and ends. It could be a shovel, perhaps a railroad spike or horseshoe, maybe even a spring or two. It will be up to you as to what you create. You can even bring In your own “junk metal” stuff to weld up if you like. Half of the challenge is just sorting through various items and then figuring out how to weld them into some new “junk yard art.”
If you have your own welding helmet and gloves please bring those.
This is a pay to attend class, limited to 6 students, age 18 and above. The price to attend this class is $125 and the sign up link will be at cvbg.org.
We have several instructors and various brands of mig machines you can try during the day. The class size is small so you get plenty of hands on instruction and welding time.
