About this Event
About this event
LEEDS 2023 are excited to be working on a series of free workshops that aim to make creative software training more accessible to Leeds communities.
Image Editing with GoDaddy Studio
Hosted at theMoor Allerton Library, the next session is on using Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) to show you how to make creative Livestream’s that can be broadcast to multiple platforms including YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook.
OBS, is a free live streaming software for Mac and Windows that enables you to build unique creative streams. Allowing you to do anything from making lower thirds and scroll bars for live news broadcasts, to having on-screen pop-ups during gigs to show the band name and song title.
OBS allows live broadcasts to several popular streaming services including Youtube, Facebook Live, Twitch, Twitter, and Mixer with the built-in ability to stream to your own custom server as well.
Led by Ora Ataguba and Balie Ali from Sable Radio, the workshop will provide a step-by-step guide on how to use OBS, from opening a project, adding different scenes and streaming to the platform of your choice.
The workshop will be interactive, where you will follow what Ora and Balie are doing on your own laptop as they take you through a step-by-step guide to using OBS. No previous experience is necessary, we just ask you to come with a laptop and be eager to learn something new with the rest of the group!
Requirements
Attendees will need to bring a laptop. To streamline the workshop, please download OBS from here before you arrive. OBS is free and does not need a powerful laptop to use it, but may not work on all laptops.
Please download and test and opening OBS on your laptop before the workshop to make sure your laptop can run it.
Please make sure that your laptop has permission to join public Wi-Fi.

This series of workshops have been developed with the support of 100% Digital Leeds
100% Digital Leeds is led by a team in Leeds City Council, working with partners to make Leeds the most digitally inclusive city for everyone.
The approaches they advocate and the resources they provide are informed by their knowledge of common barriers to digital inclusion but they understand that everyone’s digital inclusion journey is different. The reasons for being offline, the motivators for doing more, and the support needed to make the most of digital are always unique, whether thinking about an organisation or an individual.
These workshops do not have BSL or Audio Captioning available. They are open to anyone, even if you have not used the software before however an understanding of how to install software on your laptop is required. Each workshop is a group session run by an expert who will be accompanied by one or two facilitators who can help with one on one support if needed.
If you can no longer attend, please email [email protected] so we can offer your tickets to others who wish to attend.
