Beginners Belly Dance for Women: 5-week course (Tuesdays)

Learn the foundations of belly dance in a small, friendly women-only group. Five Tuesday evenings in Shoreditch. No experience needed!
About this Event

Have you always wanted to try belly dance? This is a beginners course for women, starting right from the basics, so you don't need any dance experience at all.

Over five Tuesday evenings we'll learn the foundations: posture, hip lifts and drops, shimmies, hip circles, figures of eight and flowing arms. Each week builds on the one before, and in the last class we'll put the moves together into a short, simple routine to dance together (no performing, just for us!).

The music comes from all over the world, from upbeat songs to slow dreamy ones, and there's plenty of time to ask questions and take a breather.

Why so cheap?
I'm in the last stage of my belly dance teacher training, so this first course is at a teacher in training rate, a lot less than a course usually costs in London.

About me.
I'm Rhiannon. I've been teaching yoga for five years and I've been mesmerised by the beauty of belly dance for almost as long. I'm training as a belly dance teacher, and I can't wait to share it.

What to bring:
Comfortable clothes you can move in, and water. Most people dance barefoot or in soft shoes. If you have a hip scarf, bring it (and if you don't, no need to buy one for this course unless you want, and I will have a few spare).

Good to know:
- Women only.
- Everything is beginner level and you can go at your own pace.
- If you have an injury, are pregnant or have a health condition, message me before booking and we'll see together whether it's right for you.
