Frequently Asked Questions:
What are the physical requirements for this class?

No prior skill or physical experience with backpacking is needed to participate. This is a class-room based workshop. You need to be able to sit or stand for the duration of the workshop, that is all.

Do I need to bring my own backpacking gear with me?

No, you do not need to bring any gear.

However, if you have backpacking gear, either because you've purchased it or have inherited it from a friend or family member, please bring it. It's very beneficial to learn about these skills with the gear you have in front of you.

Will a meal be provided?

A variety of hiking-appropriate snacks will be available for you to try. If you have specific dietary restrictions, requirements, or food allergies please bring your own snacks.

The snacks provided are not intended to replace a meal. If you normally eat at this time of night, please feel free to bring additional snacks to munch on during the class. I don't mind.

Consider bringing a re-usable mug, travel cup, or water bottle, we will have hot tea and cold water available.

Please note that if we have anyone registered with a severe peanut allergy or other airborne allergy which might require hospital attention if triggered, peanuts or the substance in question will not be allowed into the facility. I will email the class ahead of time to alert you if this is the case.
