Perfect for first-time players of all ages, this class introduces the essential skills needed to start your steelpan journey.
About this Event

Participants will explore foundational techniques such as:

• How to properly hold and control steelpan sticks
• Developing hand coordination and striking techniques
• Understanding the steelpan layout
• Basic rhythmic exercises and phrase-building
• Introduction to melody and harmony concepts with musical scales

This class emphasizes skill-building over performance. Students will gain confidence through guided exercises and learn the language of steelpan music in a supportive, fun environment.

(4 - 90 minute classes per month). New students may start the first Saturday of the month.
