This Beginner Slowbal Deep Dive is a collaboration between Swing in Rhythm and Slowfeet Studio, led by your local—and international—teachers, Deirdre and Joost, who are sure to make you fall in love with Slow Bal! ❤️Swing music offers a wide range of tempos to dance to, and in this workshop, you'll dive into the slow tempos. Slow Bal, or Slow Balboa, is an elegant dance style for slow jazz music, blending the same playfulness and improvisation found in other Swing dances.
In this 2 hour workshop, you’ll learn to move to slower swing music, discovering the unique feel and flow of Slow Bal. You’ll master the basic steps, learn some stylish moves, and explore how to co-create your dance. Followers will learn how to take initiative and add personal style, while leaders will practice being responsive and creating space for improvisation. If you have experience in other Swing dances, like Lindy Hop or Balboa, you can absolutely adapt those skills to suit a slower tempo.
You will need to choose a fixed role for this workshop.
