BEGINNER SEWING 3-CLASS PACKAGE: PJ SET

Prerequisite skills: None

In this three class package you will learn the foundational skills needed to construct simple apparel items in the first class. You will then build upon those foundational skills in the following 2 classes. This class package is perfect for the aspiring sewist who is curious to try sewing or the self-taught sewist who would like to increase their knowledge and technical skill set.

Int Beginner Sew: Fleur Robe-Feb 22

Students will:

• Cut and sew a pajama top & matching shorts, plus a cozy robe
• Learn how to make thin spagetti straps;
• Work on Janome HD-3000 and School Mate 7330 straight-stitch home sewing machines and Janome and Babylock home sergers.
• Learn sewing vocabulary, including sewing machine parts and apparel construction terminology;
• Learn how to thread and operate a conventional sewing machine, including trouble-shooting common issues;
• Receive instruction on how to read sewing pattern pieces
• Learn basic techniques to create sewn products, including how to pin and cut fabric and order of operations for construction; and
• Receive a complimentary Rightfully Sewn sewing pattern for a pajama top, shorts, & a robe to continue sewing at home.

All fabric & sewing tools will be provided by Rightfully Sewn Academy and it's donors in order to promote and encourage a sustainable future in the fashion industry.
