The Montreal Kenjutsu Dojo invites you to embark on a journey into the timeless traditions of Japanese martial arts, offering training in a koryu, or “old style,” passed down through 24 generations. This lineage preserves the teachings of the dojo’s founder, providing an authentic curriculum that includes Kenjutsu, Jojutsu, Iaijutsu, and more.
To introduce new students to the art, the dojo is hosting a special six-hour seminar. This immersive experience covers foundational practices, including:
-Class & School Hierarchy: Understand the structure and lineage of the school.
-Dojo Etiquette: Learn the respectful practices essential to traditional training.
-Kamae: Explore the essential stances that form the base of each technique.
-Suburi and Line Suburi: Practice cutting drills to refine movement and precision.
-Solo & Paired Kata: Begin learning the forms that bring the techniques to life.
