This workshop is in person for 10 weeks, 3 hours per week.
This beginning level jewellery workshop will provide focused instruction and practice to build confidence with essential metalsmithing tools, techniques, and safety. We will make approximately 4-5 pieces of jewellery using copper, brass, and sterling silver over the 10 weeks. The final project will be designed by you based on all the skills you have learned so far.
This will be a low-pressure, fun environment in which to learn and push boundaries.
By the end of the workshop, students will:
·Safely use basic jewellery tools and equipment
·Demonstrate proper sawing (piercing) techniques|
·Understand soldering basics
·Apply texture and surface design
·Form and shape metal into wearable pieces
·Finish and polish jewellery to a professional standard
