Beginner-friendly road riding skills: group lesson
About this Event
A group cycling lesson for adult women who would like to build their confidence riding on roads. We will meet in a traffic free area, move on to quiet roads, and build up to areas with more traffic. The lesson will focus on four key road cycling skills: communication, observation, priorities and positioning. We will work at a pace the group feels comfortable with, aiming to keep us in the stretch zone, not stress zone! Riding will take place on a variety of roads so we can practice cycling through a wide range of different situations. This lesson will suit any women who would like to build road cycling confidence, and to know how to cycle safely and assertively following the Highway Code.
The lesson will last two hours and will be limited to ten participants. You can bring your own bike, or if you need to borrow one, please book the appropriate ticket. Please ensure your bike is roadworthy, and bring weather appropriate clothing, and some water and snacks to fuel you during the ride.

TIME: meet at 9.45am ready to start at 10am.
This lesson will be led by Emily, a fully qualified Bikeability instructor, and supported by a second instructor.
This lesson is organised by Women in Tandem, a Community Interest Company based in Nottingham that aims to support and empower women to ride bikes. The session is funded by The Cycling UK Big Bike Revival, and they have asked us to securely collect names and emails (as registered on Eventbrite) in order to send you a follow up survey about your cycling habits: let us know if you do not want your email address passed on.
