Description:
This class is reserved for adults, however if you have a minor 12+ who is interested, feel free to email me at [email protected]. Minors attending must be accompanied by an adult. I will provide a seating area for non-participating adults.
In this course, students will learn the fundamentals of drawing using fun props during the most exciting time of the year (Halloween, of course!).
The class will begin with a basic run-down of the supplies you will be using, specifically the different pencils and charcoal. The first two hours will be focused on sketching then reducing objects to basic shapes. The second half, will consist of learning contours, starting with learning how to shade.
Concluding the course, the last class will consist of practice shading exercises. During the final session, you will begin to see your drawing come to life as you use your newfound skills to create a spooky still life drawing using multiple objects and changes in lighting!
Supplies needed:
- A 14 x 11 sketchbook will do, nothing smaller.
-Artist pencils 2B through 6B.
I prefer that you bring your own eraser - any kind is fine, however, there will be extra pencils and erasers, if needed.
-A set of artist charcoal; we will be using soft and medium charcoals.
Students are open to bringing an object they'd like to draw; however, props are provided. If you have any questions regarding supplies feel free to email me at [email protected].
