Beginner Salsa Suelta with Anaya Latin Dance (Ciro), Wednesdays from 7-8 pmThis class is a fast-paced introduction to “Salsa Suelta”, or salsa without partners (shines). We work on the basic salsa steps and body movement coordination as well as movements drawn from other Cuban dances which are integral to a salsero’s vocabulary. Unlike the intermediate class, in the beginner class we do not work on choreographic routines but instead focus on the technique for movements and short movement combinations. This class can be taken on an ongoing basis.
Advanced Beginner Cuban Salsa in Partners Series with Anaya Latin Dance, Wednesdays from 8-9 pm
We will learn common Cuban salsa figures, both as couples (partner work) and as a group (rueda de casino). Dancers should have strong timing and already know basic casino steps dile que no, guapea, and enchufla. It is recommended to start on a series start date (first week of month) as content rotates monthly but does not repeat, so this class can be taken on an ongoing basis. Brief guided social dance at the beginning of this class.
