Have you been considering picking up a new craft? Come learn the art of chainmailling! Whether you are enamored by the clink of medieval armor, or simply want to accent your fashion with a new statement piece, chainmailling will open up a brand new world of creative possibilities!
Our 101 class will cover the fundamentals of chainmail. You will learn how to use pliers to open and close rings cleanly, how to identify ring sizes and gauges for various projects, and how to weave a basic European 4-in-1 pattern. This weave is one of the most versatile, and is used for everything from jewelry to wall hangings to armor. At the end of the class you will have a completed bracelet or other small project that you will be able to take home with you!
All tools and materials will be provided onsite.
This craft requires repetitive wrist movements and the ability to grip a pair of pliers in each hand for an extended period of time.
Parking: Abundance Co Op has a free parking lot. There is free parking along South Avenue, as well as on the side streets surrounding our block. There are also two lots for parking on South Ave. See our interactive parking map for more information.
There is no need to purchase anything from Abundance Co-Op while you're attending the class. There are snacks available for purchase in the grocery side of the co-op. You may bring water/a drink with you. Public restrooms are available on site.
