Learn basic car mechanics in this hands-on beginner workshop, no experience needed.
This 3-hour class gives you the practical skills and confidence to take care of your own vehicle. Whether you're a new car owner, tired of relying on someone else, or just done feeling lost at the shop, this is the course for you. Total beginners welcome, ages 16+*, in a judgment-free, supportive space.

What you'll learn:
✅ Pop the hood, check fluids, replace filters, and jumpstart an engine
✅ Change a tire, check tread depth and air pressure, inflate a tire, and examine your brakes
✅ Know-how to keep you safe during roadside emergencies and avoid costly repairs
✅ A simple maintenance plan — you'll work with a mechanic to build a routine that fits your specific vehicle

Flat tires, low oil, a dead battery - emergencies happen. For a lot of people, even a routine mechanic visit can feel intimidating. Many of our attendees come in tired of overpaying for simple repairs, or of having to call someone every time a dashboard light comes on. In three hours, you'll have the skills to handle the basics yourself and the confidence to ask the right questions when you do go to a shop.

Our instructor is a licensed mechanic with 20+ years of experience. He has taught auto mechanics to hundreds of students at all levels. He makes learning fun, practical, and welcoming.

Info: We'll take you on a tour under the hood of your car. Learn how to perform a safety check, jumpstart an engine, and which fluids and filters you can inspect and replace yourself
Changing a tire
Info: Learn essential skills for roadside safety, plus how to change snow tires yourself! We'll cover: locating your spare tire and emergency equipment, safely lifting your vehicle, removing and replacing a tire, tire wear to watch for, checking tread depth and tire pressure
Brake check
Info: We'll teach you how to tell when your brakes need repair, plus mechanic up-selling to watch out for
Maintenance schedule and must-haves in your car
Info: Gain the confidence to work with a mechanic and manage your car's maintenance schedule. We'll also show you some important safety items to purchase for your vehicle
