Beginner Calligraphy- 3 week series

Participants will learn how to create calligraphy with a dip pen and ink. During the three weeks, students will take a deeper dive into learning the basic strokes, the lower case Copperplate Calligraphy letters, how to put words together, and extra practice exercises to complete at home. The uppercase alphabet will be covered in more detail as well as how to create your own style, flourishing, and some fun drills. You will learn how simple breathing techniques can help with not only creating beautiful calligraphy but also quiet your mind and relieving overall stress. All materials will be included.

This 3 week series will take place on February 22nd, March 1st and March 8th from 11:30-1:30 at the Burncoat Center for Arts and Wellness.

Jessica first learned calligraphy as a kid, and is passionate about teaching others the wellness benefits of creating beautiful lettering in this digital age.

This class is appropriate for students ages 10 and up.

There is a $10 materials fee due to the instructor at the beginning of class.
