Beginner Bird Walk: Bethine Church River Trail

Join Golden Eagle Audubon for our monthly beginner and family-friendly bird walk along the Bethine Church River Trail. This is a great opportunity to learn about riparian habitat as we focus on local birds, plants, and stewardship efforts in the area.

Expect to see songbirds, waterfowl, woodpeckers, herons, and kingfishers.

This monthly bird walk is targeted towards beginner birders, so if you are brand-new to birding, this is the outing for you! We will cover basics like adjusting your binoculars, how to use field guides, and tips & tricks to identifying birds.

Accessibility: We will travel between 1-2 miles on flat, unpaved trails that are wheelchair accessible.

Birding Skill Level: All levels, including beginners, are welcome. Binoculars are available to borrow if needed.

Age: Participants younger than 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and participants younger than 18 must have a parent/guardian sign the liability release.

Time: 10:00am – 12:00pm. Check-in is at 9:50am. Please arrive at check-in so we can start on time.

Library! at Bown Crossing

What to bring: Sun protection, binoculars if you have them, layers for weather and anything else you need to be comfortable being outside for a couple of hours. No dogs please.

Restroom Availability: No public restrooms are available.

Special Conditions: If there is an unhealthy AQI or steady rain forecast, the trip will be cancelled.
