About this Event

Before the Fog Sets In: Understanding Dementia & Protecting Your Legacy

Join us for a practical session on recognising possible early signs of dementia and what families should know to plan ahead in protecting their loved ones.

  • Understand what dementia is, how it progresses, and the warning signs to watch for
  • Learn how to potentially reduce the risk of developing dementia through lifestyle
  • Discover how to protect your assets and legacy so your wishes are carried out, no matter what happens to your health

Many families only discover the signs of dementia after it’s too late

Dementia often begins with small, easy‑to‑miss changes. There are early warning signs, but families frequently overlook them because they don’t know what to look for.

Here's what makes it worse:

There is a window between being “perfectly fine” and “too late” — a period when your loved one can still make decisions and put plans in place to protect their wishes. Unfortunately, many families only learn this after that window has closed, leaving legal decisions unmade and assets unprotected.

What you'll learn

An Informative Session to help your family plan ahead

  • Understanding Dementia — What dementia is, common early warning signs, and how it typically progresses — explained by a medical professional.
  • The Grey Zone — MCI (Mild Cognitive Impairment): what it means, how it differs from normal ageing, and why early assessment and planning can be helpful.
  • Planning While You Can — Practical steps for legacy protection and how to start family conversations about future care and decision‑making.
  • Your Questions, Answered — This is an interactive session with a dedicated Q&A with Dr. Pang Wee Yang, where you can ask him about ageing, memory concerns, and next steps for your family.
