Take a journey to the days when the sound systems reigned supreme and laid the foundation for Toronto Hip-Hop.
About this Event

Toronto’s hip-hop history includes countless groundbreaking hip hop artists from Maestro Fresh Wes to Drake, but without the sound systems that existed before them would we have ever had a hip-hop scene in the city to begin with?

Join Before the 6ix hosts Del Cowie and DJ Agile, as they go on a musical journey with DJs and MCs from Toronto’s sound systems that played the first hip-hop records at blockos, high schools and roller skating rinks. Featuring special guest panelists Toney D from Sunshine Sound Crew, Lady P of Kilowatt and DJ ONeil of Chic Dynasty.

Question and answer session to follow.

Ticket registration for this event is required.
