Beer Stein Workshop at Ancient Owl Beer Garden with Adriana Lemus!

Join us for a beginner clay workshop at Ancient Owl Beer Garden in San Luis Obispo! We will be making a Ceramic Terra Cotta Beer Stein Mug! You will learn the basics of working with clay using the slab construction method and decorating by using stamps and other tools. Adriana Lemus from Night Owl Pottery will guide you through this two-hour intro to clay workshop!

The $70 fee includes terra cotta clay, all materials and tools to use during the workshop, glaze and firing, two hours of instruction by an experienced ceramic artist, AND a your first beverage! Once your pottery is created, you will leave it with the instructor where she will take it back to her studio in San Luis Obispo to be fired, glazed (painted), and fired a second time. This process takes about 4-6 weeks. When complete, the pottery will be brought back to Ancient Owl to be picked up.

Adriana Lemus was born and raised on the Central Coast and has been working with ceramics for 16 years. She studied art at UC Berkeley and has been running her own business for the past 7 years. Adriana creates functional and non-functional ceramic vessels that are made to connect with the soul. Adriana teaches private throwing lessons in her backyard studio, sells her work at local Makers Markets, online, and is currently working on commission work for restaurants, hotels, spas, and homes.

Ancient Owl- Coming from many years in the brewing industry in California and Chicago, our last few years in Northern San Luis Obispo county made our inner beer geeks wonder, “Where is ALL the variety?” We saw a need for a beer garden and bottle shop that would bring our favorite beers from all over the world to share with our community. So we put down our mash paddles (for now) to bring the craft beer lovers a truly curated, unique list of draft and packaged craft beer- as well as other craft fermented beverages- that aims to stand out in the beer landscape here in Atascadero, as well as the Central Coast of California.

Due to limited seating, we have a strict 24-hour cancellation policy to reschedule or receive a refund. This will allow us to offer your spot to another guest.
