Beekeeping 102: Beehive Building and Introduction to Carpentry

This one day course will cover the construction of two different types of beehives. One of them is the common Langstroth hive that is used worldwide. It’s the common box hive. The second is the Kenyan top bar hive. We will be discussing a few other types of hive systems aswell. Students will have the opportunity to to build their own hive using a variety of wood working tools. Building bee hives are a great way to learn basic carpentry skills. Students have the option of taking home their hive or taking the course for experience only. Materials fee will be required in advance.
This course will have three different sections but you have the choice of purchasing just a single day. Each class costs $65 but if you purchase all three classes it is $180.

Saturday, December 4th: Beekeeping 102 - Beehive Building and Introduction to Carpentry
Saturday, December 11th: Beekeeping 103 - Beehive Rescue and Honey Harvesting
(Must have previous beekeeping knowledge or take 101 in order to take 103)
