This event is free for spectators and open to the public to enjoy some very talented and new musicians.ELIGIBILITY:
Performers residing in the tri-state area of Florida, Georgia, Alabama are invited to participate.
Application Process:
The Applicant will upload a video to Youtube with the title,“Young Lions Jazz Summit” with their name and location along with an email to [email protected]
The audition is fully online, by video. The 6 chosen performers will perform live during Memorial Day weekend, May 24-26th, 2024
Applicant must submit an application form and upload a video to Youtube no later than Sunday, May 5, 2024,11:00pm
Video Recording
The recording should be in video format, with clear audio.
Both hands and face of the applicant should be visible.
Audio of the recording must be not edited.
Video must be submitted via YouTube Link.
Judging
Entries will be judged based on musicality, technique and overall performance
The decision of the jury is final and cannot be appealed.
Announcement Of The Winners
The participants will be notified about their results through email on Wednesday, May 5, 2024.
The diplomas will be sent via email.
Disqualification
Any attempt of engaging the competition in any form of manipulation and/or unfair practices will lead to immediate disqualification.
CRITERIA:
MUSICAL LITERACY AND PROFICIENCY (40% of score)
This piece is effectively performed and realized in a manner that displays musical proficiency.
CREATIVITY (30% of score)
The performer utilizes distinctive phrasing techniques and demonstrates imagination.
OVERALL EXCELLENCE (30% of overall score)
The performer displays musicality and makes a strong, memorable impression.
