A Message from Bishop Timothy Clarke

In 2001 the Lord began speaking to me about a fellowship for pastors of small and mid-size churches pastors who are bi-vocational and pastors who are young and or new to the pastoral ministry. He spoke to me about those who want and need someone to partner with them as they seek to do the ministry God has called them to.

The vision for Berean Fellowship of churches, came to me that summer. During my time of prayer and study, I came across a passage in Acts 17 that mentioned the city of Berea, a place where Paul went after being rejected, wounded and driven out of Thessalonia. I thought to myself, pastors need a place of acceptance and affirmation, a place of welcome and love even when the very ministry that they are engaged in is what ushers the pain into their lives.

How do we seek to accomplish this? Here is my vision:

1. through a tape each month that will be sent to each member of Berean. These tapes will focus on in on a different topic of ministry each month and will have the purpose of putting into the hands of the pastures a tool that they can use right away!

2. through a quarterly seminar once each quarter I want to invite Marian pastors and their spouses to 1st church for a Friday evening and Saturday morning seminar and time of sharing. This time with each other will not only provide information and training, but interaction and fellowship with other men and women of God as well.

3. Through an annual conference (once a year), Berean will host a conference that will be staffed by some of the leading preaching pastoral practitioners of our time.

Berean is also registered with the state of Ohio as a recognized religious body with all the rights and privileges afforded. This allows the ordination of clergy elders and to provide Apostolic covering for those pastors and churches that desire it!

There are two levels of membership in Berean:

1. Apostolic- for those who desire to be covered by this ministry
2. Association- for those who seek primarily fellowship and partnership

I have attempted to make Berean affordable for everyone taking into consideration the resources that may or may not be available to pastors and their ministries. Therefore, we are only charging $100 for an annual membership. This is the vision I have been given for Berean. It is my prayer that if you are led to this fellowship, that you would respond to us and join this move of God. God has given me great opportunity to share and equip passions for what lies ahead by presenting to you some of the most influential pastors of our time, and tools that will be essential to the development of your ministry.
