On March 18 2025 at 7:00 PM Gallery Particulier invites you to Because Beauty a storytelling event held at 281 Maple St in Flatbush Brooklyn. This unique gathering will explore the profound and personal meanings of beauty — a force that has shaped human history culture and imagination across millennia.
For as long as we have existed we have turned to beauty — in nature in art in each other — to understand and express the world around us. From the breathtaking cave art of prehistoric Africa to the beauty we seek in our daily lives Because Beauty will shine a light on the ways beauty moves and sustains us.
Through personal stories from New Yorkers we’ll ask and answer: What does beauty mean to us? For many beauty can be found in nature minds souls physical forms emotions devotion friendship dance compassion laughter love language aesthetics understanding and grace. This evening will celebrate beauty as a resource for the soul especially in times where we experience repression and censorship..
Comrade Cav a celebrated figure in Brooklyn’s music scene a talented writer and a beloved community voice will guide us through the evening. His dynamic presence and deep connection to Brooklyn’s creative and activist communities promise to infuse the night with warmth insight and energy.
As with all Collective Tales storytelling events the evening will also include an interactive activity inviting the audience to engage directly and reflect on their own relationship with beauty.
