Friday October 17th at 6PM Beautifully Scary III…Come to experience the gallery transformed by darkness, meet the artists and see their Dark Art in The Gallery at 119 East Saint Louis Street in Pacific Missouri on Friday October 17th from 6PM to 10PM.
Lex Red Ropes will once again be exhibiting the beautiful and the scary Art of Shibari. Shibari times TBA. Seating is limited and is first come.
Join the block party too and celebrate in the streets as the Pacific Area Chamber of Commerce and local businesses host the Witches & Warlocks Adult Street Party on West Saint Louis Street from 7PM - 11PM. Food Vendor, Costume Contest and more.
Beautifully Scary Gallery Event starts at 6PM in The Gallery at 119 East Saint Louis Street and ends on West Saint Louis Street at 11PM.
Say Art Studios welcomes outside food and drink in designated areas from local restaurants and Witches & Warlocks Adult Street Party food vendors. Free entry into the gallery. Free street and commuter lot parking available within close walking distance of gallery & block party.

In Fall of the Fall of 2023 “Beautifully Scary” was the first exhibition (what eventually became) Say Art Studios called for artists. I remember jumping up and down as I began receiving submissions from local artists to show in this newly opened gallery space. Some of the artists I had known and worked with during the 20 plus years of my career. Other submissions were from working artists who I had never met. There were entries from new emerging artists who were just getting started exhibiting their work. It was exciting to begin the adventure of bringing creative minds together.
The exhibition Beautifully Scary was created around the idea of how beautiful, and scary, existence and existing as a human can feel. The idea that opposites play a role so drastically in our daily realities is at times an amazing feeling and at other times a terrifying one.
Good and bad? Day without night? Would we know one without the other?
This philosophical question is as old as …the love of wisdom.
As the cycles of the seasons pass, Spring and Summer are collectively times to celebrate light and aliveness. Fall and Winter have become the times to welcome the dark and the understandings that come with death. Continuing on through the cycles of light and darkness by making and creating is how humans have continued on.
Making art is the way the artist finds ways to communicate the duality of their experiences. Celebrating a life we struggle, painfully at times, to understand can bring an intense awareness to the moment. Beautifully Scary.
This is why giving a space for artists to show this reflective, thoughtful dark beauty is so important.
The work submitted already for Beautifully Scary III is remarkable. It’s thrilling to see the range of subject matter, from the serious and emotional to fun and playful, a Dark Arts Call For Art can bring.
