A TRIBUTE TO HUTZLER'S
Learn about Hutzler's and see some great artifacts from their former department store locations.
"If you wanted the good stuff, you went to Hutzler's." -William Donald Schaefer, Maryland Governor & Baltimore City Mayor
Beau and Tinsel are animated reindeer characters created in 1978 to celebrate the holiday season at Hutzler’s department stores across Maryland, including the Hutzler Brothers Palace on Howard Street in Baltimore, Eastpoint Mall in Dundalk, Salisbury Mall, Southdale Shopping Center in Glen Burnie, Towson, Westview Mall in Catonsville, and White Marsh Mall.
Hutzler Brothers was founded in 1858 and became the place to shop. For many children during the holiday season, it was more important to see the famous talking reindeer, even before Santa Claus. The final Hutzler’s store in Towson closed at the end of the 1989 holiday season.
Now, over 40 years have passed since Beau & Tinsel first entertained Marylanders, and we are giving future generations an all-new Beau & Tinsel experience once again this holiday season at PADONIA.
