About this Event
Join us this Sunday, December 18th, for an exclusive coffee cupping event at Beatrice Society Cafe, hosted by our very own, Huamin Chen. This event will happen bi-weekly, with the alternate event being hosted in Chinese-Mandarin. If you miss one Sunday, rest assured - you can participate in the next one! However, because the coffee selection will vary each week, you won't want to miss out on tasting these featured coffees while they're available! This week, the coffees we'll be tasting are:
Three Marks Coffee: Founded and run by three guys that share the same name (guess what it is… yep, Marc, you’re right… the three dudes are Marc Aguyé, Marco de Rebotti and Marco Paccagnella), is an “industrial style cafè” with high ceilings and huge windows. It’s located far off the beaten track, in the Fort Pienc neighbourhood and it offers artisan roasted specialty coffee and a lovely atmosphere that makes you feel like home.
Nomad: In 2011 it was a simple coffee cart stationed at markets around the busy city of London. Later, it moved to Barcelona to open its first shop and help cultivate a taste for speciality coffee in the Catalan capital. Soon after, they opened their own open roastery and they began to distribute their product and create a collaborative network of cafés, helping the project to grow on an international scale.
ONA: ONA is a specialty coffee roastery in Canberra, founded by WBC15 Sasa Sestic in 2008. They source coffee from all around the world through their ethical green bean trading company, Project Origin. By engaging directly with coffee producers at their farms and paying them a fair income, farm practices and quality control improves - benefiting all their communities.
Pergamino: When you start traveling around Colombia, you’ll notice that locals drink instant coffee and aren’t sitting down to top-quality brews on a daily basis. This is because Colombia’s best beans are the ones that are exported and consumed around the globe. For this reason, it’s sometimes even a challenge to find export-grade Colombian coffee… in Colombia. Especially those who seek an excellent coffee experience in a coffee-producing country. With that, Pergamino was founded!
Each person in attendance will get to try some amazing coffees and experience an educational tasting with Huamin, As well as leave the event with; a free bag of subtext coffee beans, a voucher for 50% your first month of a subtext coffee subscription, and a discounted pastry item of choice in the cafe.
Hope to see you there,
xo,
