Join in dance & celebration of new art and music on May 18th at Flash! 🐻❄️🤍🔮✨🌲🌊🍄🌺Releasing his third EP, 'BearHeart', on May 15th, Ursidae is joined for the first stop of the BearHeart Tour by Violinist Hon Jao & Saxophonist Jess GeeOh for an evening of live musical performances & DJ sets!

Ursidae is a multi-instrumentalist, producer & DJ as well as leader of Ecstatic Dance DC. His intricate and funky yet dreamy sounds stem from his upbringing, an environment which fostered his desire for musical exploration. With a professor of music theory for a father and a background steeped in classical piano, jazz, funk, and electronic influences, music has been central to his life from the start.
With guitar in hand, Ursidae seamlessly blends the warmth of live instrumentation with the infectious grooves of electronic music. His live performances become a playground of spontaneity, each moment an invitation to join him on a musical journey like no other. The core purpose of Ursidae is to inspire transcension of duality through love & movement!

:: Hon Jao ::
Hon Jao is the musical moniker of Jon Hao, Maryland and D.C. based violinist/DJ. A mainstay in the electronic music, wellness, and creative communities on the East Coast, he is known for appearances in a variety of settings, from intimate yoga and meditation classes to booming night clubs and music festivals. Weaving together soaring, improvised melodies on the violin with primal, earthy beats, his live DJ sets are best described as a spontaneous closed-eyes journey. Hon Jao leaves behind uplifted hearts, emotions flying high, and heads in the clouds. The never-ending goal is to leave a lasting impact through his music that helps uplift people, and create a positive atmosphere in their lives.

Flash opened its doors in June of 2013 as a collaboration between long-time lovers of music, former DJ’s, and music industry vets. Their goal was to present an intimate space where artists can express themselves clearly and fans can hear their favorite artists in an ideal setting.
The Club Level features an acoustically treated studio-quality room showcasing a custom Funktion One sound system and a next-generation lighting rig designed to heighten the experience. It provides a balance between dance floor, fully stocked bar and wall-to-wall bench seating.
The ground floor, appropriately named Flash Bar, features a separate dance floor and DJ area, coat check, ATM, additional restrooms, and a fully stocked bar specializing in a wide selection of liquor and hand-crafted cocktails.
The rooftop, aka Green Room, features a third DJ booth, dancefloor, and a fully retractable top and bi-fold doors to enjoy the open air. The dancefloor is surrounded by greenery, lounge seating and views of DC. The extended bar menu on the roof features frozen cocktails, organic juices, and kombucha.
Flash is open every Friday and Saturday night with headlining national and international DJ talents covering a wide spectrum of house music, from deep to techno. Other styles of music are also presented numerous nights per week. Please check the events page for the latest list of events.
