In 2012 Bear Williams received the BET Lifetime Achievement Award for his work with Frankie Beverly & Maze both on tour and for his contribution to the group's 1994 CD titled "Back To Basics" (Warner Bros). In 2016 after many notable accomplishments as a sideman in the music industry, Bear returned to his hometown of Chicago to create and release his own Blues & Roots Music CD titled "Waters of Love" (GVR Records).
