Wellington based singer songwriters and multi-instrumentalists Beans Wright and Don Mackay have been performing together as a duo since early 2025, and were previously both members of the trio Don and The Divorcees over the previous couple of years.They play a mixed repertoire of Beans songs and Dons in a set that ranges across folk, country and acoustic rock styles, including most of the songs from Don and The Divorcees 2025 album “Bit Players”.
The 13th Floor described “Bit Players” as “an album that trusts in the detail, honesty, and strength of three distinct songwriting voices working in harmony. Alongside the sadness and stillness, there is wit, warmth, and a sense of the comfort of friends.”
There will be happy songs, sad songs, silly songs, murder ballads, and songs reflecting on the state of the universe.
In addition there will be an opening set from Otaki's own Ari Leason.
