We are excited to announce a new Beading with the Big Chief class, taught by Big Chief Darryl Montana and Big Queen Dianne Honoré of the Yellow Pocahontas Black Masking Indians. In this class, students aged 55+ will explore the history, traditions, and technique of Blacks Masking Indians and create their own hand-sewn beaded designs. The final creations will be on display at the Presbytere!
This course will be held weekly at the Cabildo (701 Chartres Street) from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., starting Wednesday, May 8, 2024, until Wednesday, June 26, 2024. Spots are limited and these classes are offered on a first-come, first-served basis with preference given to those who have not taken the class before. If you are unable to commit to this class, we will be offering more in the Fall.
If you would like to register for this class, please click here to fill out our registration form here: https://forms.gle/GvsaGqZHCYKqFwjz8
We will reach out in a few weeks with email confirmations for those who have been accepted, and any information you may need to participate.
