Beaded Watercolour Workshop 1

Carly Nabess invites you to her Beaded Floral Landscape Workshops! Participants will learn about Carly’s multimedia practice, her relationship with Métis beaded florals and watercolour painting, and how she came to combine the two. During this workshop, you will also learn watercolour mixing and wash technique. While the ability to thread a needle and sew is an asset, there will be support if this is a barrier.

Carly will be teaching non-culturally specific flat-stitch beading techniques on watercolour paper, allies are welcome. Attendees can expect to create a mini watercolour painting on watercolour paper and bead a plant that is meaningful to them onto the painting.

Please bring photo references of a place or landscape, and of a plant you would like to paint and bead! Carly is excited to visit with other makers and hear about their relationship to the plants and lands they are celebrating and honouring for their mini beaded landscape painting.
