Join us on Tuesday, October 1 from 6 - 9pm to celebrate the beginning of the public phase of Beacon’s Light the Way campaign! This campaign is to raise funds and awareness for the construction of the new Beacon Center, and we would love to have you join us at this exciting event and candlelight procession. This is a family-friendly event and open to walkers and attendees of all ages.RSVP today with the following link:

We will be walking in a candlelight procession from outside of Loren Wood Builders (900 S. Walnut St. near our current Shalom Center) to the site of the new Beacon Center (1201 W 3rd St.), a distance of approximately 1.5 miles. For those who are unable to participate in the procession, you are very much welcome to attend only the celebration at the new Beacon Center site.
6:00pm - 6:30pm: Park at the new Beacon Center site (1201 W 3rd St) and catch the shuttle to the event check-in location and starting point. (Note: Limited street parking is available near the walk starting location and we will have shuttles running continuously between the two locations. However, we encourage everyone who is able to please park at the new Beacon Center site where parking is plentiful and take the shuttle to the walk starting point.)
6:00pm - 6:30pm: Event check-in, and candle distribution outside of Loren Wood Builders (900 S Walnut St.)
6:30pm: Opening remarks
6:45pm: Walking procession departs from Loren Wood Builders and travels past Shalom Center to the Monroe County Courthouse square, and then on to the site of the new Beacon Center. There will be brief stops along the way to watch local musical performers.
7:50pm: Procession arrives at the new Beacon Center site
8:00pm: Remarks by Forrest Gilmore, Mayor Thomson, and others
8:20pm: Celebration with music, dessert, hot chocolate, and hot cider
9:00pm: Event ends
9:15pm: Last return shuttle departs to Loren Wood Builders
