Join us for Monarch Tagging at Koogler Wetland/Prairie Reserve on Saturday, September 28th from 1pm-3pm! This is a free community event. No registration required.
Those who attend will:
1. Learn about the monarch butterfly life cycle and the generation that migrates to Mexico.
2. Learn how to catch a monarch then search the reserve to find one.
3. See the monarchs tagged and released to begin their journey to Mexico.
4. Get ideas on how you can help monarch in their migration.
5. Participate in free, kids crafts and a Very Hungry Caterpillar Maze.
The Monarch Watch Tagging Program is a large-scale citizen science project that was initiated in 1992 to help understand the dynamics of the monarch’s spectacular fall migration. Learn more about this nationwide project at monarchwatch.org.
