Join us for a tale of the Blues. The Baldwin County Genealogical Society monthly meeting will include a talk by Mary S. Palmer & Paula L. Webb, historians and co-authors of “Mississippi Mojo… And Murder.” Palmer and Webb have written this redemptive tale in such a way that transports you to the Delta.
A sixty-year-old cold case and a big city sheriff seeking redemption-it’s time for the dead to rise. A thwarted youthful romance blends with the blues and Mama Cheche’s mojo. Controversy ensues when a blues singer groom goes missing in Cleveland, Mississippi. All becomes a tangled web.
Do you know the definition of Mojo? Do you have anyone in your family tree that may have this special gift? Have you received something from your ancestors that brings you good luck or keeps away evil? Come hold the stone!
Meetings are free and open to the public. Seating is limited and reservations are required. [email protected] with your name or call Barbara Thompson at 251-424-4681 beginning September 10. Registration is closed when seating capacity is reached (limit 42).
