BBC Comedy Scratch Night
About this Event
7pm (doors 6:30pm) – 9:30pm including interval, followed by networking.
BBC Comedy and New Writing North have joined forces to run Comedy Camp, an intensive 3 day lab with a group of 12 up-and-coming comedy creators from the North East. Together, SNL style, they have developed a series of new characters and ideas for TV series with support from Jeremy Dyson (League of Gentlemen, Good Omens, Killing Eve) director Chris Foggin (Ludwig) and writer Rebecca Bain (NewsJack, Horrible Histories).
Come along and get a first look at these brand new characters, enjoy a night of laughs and also insight from an invited industry panel including representatives from BBC Comedy, Blue House Productions (Small Prophets), Merman (Amandaland) and Schnoobert Productions (Apocalypse Slough). This is a great chance for aspiring and experienced screenwriters alike to see the comedy development process in action, get insight from professionals, and discover some of the exciting new work coming from writers in the North East.
A New Writing North event funded by BBC Comedy and the North East Combined Authority.
